Terms and Conditions

Last updated October 28, 2026

Diaspora Connect is a service of the Labour Welfare Desk at the Embassy of Nepal in Tel Aviv. These terms apply to everyone who uses the Diaspora Connect mobile app or the staff console. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.

Not an emergency service

Diaspora Connect is not monitored around the clock and is not a way to get urgent help. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call the Israeli emergency services first: Police 100, Ambulance (Magen David Adom) 101, Fire 102.

Who can use it

  • The mobile app is for Nepali citizens living or working in Israel.
  • The staff console is only for Embassy staff whose account has been created by an authorised administrator.
  • You must give a mobile phone number you own and can receive verification codes on.

Your account

  • Keep the details you give us accurate and up to date, including your legal and work details.
  • Keep your phone, verification codes and, for staff, your password to yourself. You are responsible for what is done through your account.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

Reporting issues

You can use the app to report problems such as unpaid wages, permit or housing issues. When you report an issue:

  • Give information that is true and as complete as you can. Only attach photos, recordings and files you have the right to share.
  • Embassy staff will review it and may contact you, ask for more details or refer it to the relevant Israeli or Nepali authorities to help with your case.
  • The Embassy will do its best to help, but cannot guarantee a particular outcome or response time, and is not a party to your employment contract or any dispute with your employer.

Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Give false information, pretend to be someone else or report issues on someone's behalf without their consent.
  • Send abusive, threatening or unlawful content to staff or about others.
  • Try to get into accounts or data that are not yours, or interfere with how the service works.
  • Use the service for any purpose other than the one it is provided for.

Staff console

Staff may only access worker information that their role allows and that they need for their work. Information from the console must not be copied, shared or used for any other purpose. Staff activity is logged, and misuse may lead to the account being suspended and further action under Embassy rules.

Notifications

We may send you SMS messages and push notifications about your account, your issues, upcoming document expiry and Embassy and DoFE announcements. You can change which notifications you receive in the app's notification settings, but some messages, such as verification codes, are always sent.

Suspending or closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or is used to harm others. You can ask us to delete your account at any time by contacting us below.

Availability

We work to keep Diaspora Connect available and accurate, but it is provided as it is, and may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Information in announcements is general guidance and is not legal advice.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
